Linn Cemetery

Inscriptions
:

The number in the first column of the transcriptions corresponds to a number on the Plat Map showing the location of the gravesite.

There are 60 identifiable graves in the cemetery; 32 are identified by the inscription on the tombstone; 28 are identified by sandstone and/or metal marker only with no name or dates.

The oldest extant gravestone is that of Benjamin F. "B. F." Linn, born Oct. 22, 1836, and died Nov. 17, 1863. He was killed by Indians.

There are several graves, marked but not identified by inscription on the grave‑marker. It is probable that there were earlier burials here, but if so, no records remain. The last burial was Nora Linn Allen, born in 1882 and died in 1972. (Months are unknown.)

Note: Under column "Comments" tombstone inscriptions are in "quotation marks." Submitter's comments are surrounded by [brackets].

Note: Photographs: For photos of headstones in this cemetery see booklet of photos on the Linn Cemetery by Stephen T. Schock and Lavern T. Rudisill ‑ 2006‑2007. (A copy of this booklet is available in the Rylander Memorial Library.)
