Gray Cemetery

 

  • There are 15 rows of grave markers in the cemetery with Row 1 beginning in the southwest corner of the cemetery.   Row 15 begins at about mid-point in the south fence line. 

  • The remainder of the east portion of the cemetery is vacant except for four graves in the southeast corner and five graves in the northeast corner of the cemetery. 

  • Row numbers and the relative position of the grave are indicated in the last column.    

 No 6 in Row 1 is the grave of Reuben Dewitt Ashley. (1.06)

 No. 16 in Row 4 is the grave of R. W. Gray. 4.16)

 

  • In the southeast corner of the cemetery there are four graves along the south fence line.  These graves face north with the headstones along the south fence line with the footstones to the north of the headstones.  They are numbered SE.01 through .04

  • In the northeast corner of the cemetery there are five graves along the north fence line.  These graves face south with the headstones along the north fence line and the footstone to the south of the headstone.  They are numbered NE.01-

  • The oldest extant gravestone with an inscription is that of George W. Gray who died May 23, 1877.  (No. 11 in Row 7)) 

  • The last burial (as of June 1, 2010) was that of Talitha Camille Scott who died June 20, 2009.  (No. 3 in N. E. Corner) 

  • There are 149 identified gravesites in this cemetery as of June 1, 2010.
